The Production Manager is responsible not only for overseeing manufacturing operations of
low voltage electrical panels
,
control & automation panels
, and
custom metal fabrication
, but also for managing the
design validation
and
technical conformity
of engineering drawings and BOQs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical design engineering along with proven experience in shop floor execution.
1.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Production Management
Plan and supervise daily production of LV panels (MCC, PCC, APFC, VFD), PLC/SCADA panels, and custom enclosures.
Ensure optimal resource utilization, quality output, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate with fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch teams.
2.
Design & Engineering Coordination
Review engineering drawings, GA diagrams, SLDs, wiring schematics, and bill of materials (BOMs) for:
Electrical control and power panels
PLC/relay logic circuits
Steel enclosure fabrication
Participate in
design review meetings
with electrical engineers, panel designers, and automation engineers.
Ensure the drawings comply with standards (IEC, IS, IEEE).
3.
Design Verification Responsibilities
Cross-check drawing accuracy against customer specifications and tender requirements.
Validate sizing of components, cable ratings, breaker coordination, and busbar sizing.
Review thermal calculations, load balancing, and short circuit withstand ratings (as applicable).
Verify component layout feasibility for manufacturability.
Highlight mismatches or unsafe designs to engineering before production release.
4.
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure stage-wise inspection: incoming material, panel structure, wiring, and final panel testing.
Coordinate for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and third-party inspection.
Maintain proper documentation and version control of approved designs and as-built drawings.
5.
Client & Vendor Interaction
Collaborate with clients during pre-production meetings to clarify technical specs.
Provide technical input during audits or inspections.
Coordinate with vendors for design approvals of outsourced items (e.g., busbars, coated panels, CNC parts).
6.
Estimation & Costing and Billing
