Job Description

1. Production Planning & Control

Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales orders and delivery timelines. Allocate resources (machines, manpower, materials) effectively to meet production targets. Monitor WIP (Work-In-Progress) and ensure minimum downtime. Coordinate with the procurement and stores teams for timely availability of raw materials (kraft paper, ink, adhesives, etc.).

2. Operations Management

Supervise the corrugation line, printing, slotting, die-cutting, folding, and stitching/gluing sections. Optimize machine settings and parameters to achieve best output and minimal wastage. Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules are followed in coordination with the maintenance team. Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity and reduce costs.

3. Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards at each stage of production. Work closely with the QA team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Conduct regular quality audits and maintain records as per ISO or customer requirements.

4. Manpower Management

Supervise and train line operators, supervisors, and workers on production procedures and safety. Manage shift schedules, monitor attendance, and evaluate performance. Promote teamwork, discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor.

5. Cost & Waste Management

Monitor consumption of raw materials and control wastage within set norms. Track machine efficiency, downtime, and yield ratios. Prepare and analyze daily/monthly MIS reports on production performance and cost efficiency.

6. Safety & Compliance

Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed across the production line. Conduct regular safety drills and maintain statutory compliance (Factory Act, pollution norms, etc.).

7. Continuous Improvement

Lead productivity improvement, process optimization, and automation initiatives. Evaluate new technologies and machinery upgrades for better output and consistency.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge of corrugation, flexo printing, die-cutting, and finishing operations. Hands-on experience with 3-ply, 5-ply, and 7-ply automatic corrugation lines. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in production planning software (ERP/MRP systems). Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and 5S implementation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering. MBA in Operations Management (preferred but not mandatory).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

On-time order fulfillment rate. Production efficiency (OEE%). Rejection/wastage rate. Machine downtime hours. Cost per unit produced. Safety compliance score.
