The Production Lead will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities on the shop floor, ensuring timely completion of work orders, maintaining quality standards, monitoring manpower, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets efficiently and safely.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Execution:
Execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans in coordination with the PPC (Production Planning & Control) team.
Allocate manpower, machines, and materials effectively to meet production schedules.
2. Shop Floor Supervision:
Supervise shop floor operations to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are utilized efficiently and maintained properly.
3. Quality Control:
Monitor quality at every stage of production to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
Coordinate with the Quality team to address any non-conformities.
4. Team Management:
Lead, guide, and motivate production operators, machine operators, and helpers.
Ensure proper shift handovers and maintain discipline among the team.
5. Safety & 5S Implementation:
Enforce safety standards and ensure PPE usage.
Promote and monitor 5S implementation to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
6. Reporting:
Prepare and maintain daily production reports, shift-wise data, rejection reports, and delay analysis.
Share MIS reports with senior management as required.
7. Coordination:
Communicate effectively with maintenance, quality, SCM, design, and other departments for smooth operations.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for any outsourced work or material follow-up.
8. Process Improvements:
Identify areas for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
Implement Kaizens and Lean practices on the shop floor.
9. Training:
Support training of operators and helpers on new processes, machines, and quality standards.
10. Compliance:
Ensure adherence to ISO procedures, SOPs, and company policies.
Desired Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
BE Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes.
Good understanding of production planning and shop floor management.
Working knowledge of 5S, Lean, and Kaizen.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic ERP usage.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
