Position Overview
We are seeking a
Production Incharge
to oversee and manage daily production activities for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. The role includes supervision of assembly lines, ensuring production targets, monitoring material availability, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in EV or automotive production, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of EV components like batteries, controllers, motors, wiring harnesses, and chassis assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
Plan and manage daily production schedules for EV assembly lines.
Allocate manpower based on workload and shift requirements.
Ensure timely completion of daily and monthly production targets.
Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for availability of batteries, motors, controllers, frames, wiring harnesses, and other critical components.
2. EV Assembly & Process Control
Oversee mechanical and electrical assembly operations.
Ensure correct installation of battery packs, wiring harnesses, motors, chargers, controllers, and electronic components.
Verify adherence to torque settings, SOPs, and quality standards.
Monitor functional testing, road testing, and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection).
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure that all vehicles meet internal and external quality standards.
Work with the Quality team to resolve in-process issues and implement corrective actions.
Reduce rework, rejections, and field failures through process improvements.
Maintain compliance with 5S, safety norms, and production standards.
4. Manpower & Team Management
Supervise technicians, operators, electricians, and helpers.
Conduct shift planning and manpower allocation.
Provide training and skill enhancement for assembly staff.
Monitor discipline, attendance, and shift performance.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily production logs, rework reports, downtime records, and build reports.
Track KPIs such as cycle time, productivity, rejection rate, and output efficiency.
Present daily production updates to management.
6. Maintenance Coordination
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ensure all machinery, tools, testing equipment, and fixtures are in good working condition.
7. Continuous Improvement
Implement Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
Suggest improvements to optimize assembly flow and reduce cycle time.
Participate in new model trials, process validation, and engineering improvements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of EV components: battery, BMS, motor, controller, wiring harness, chargers, frame, suspension, etc.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
Expertise in line balancing, workflow optimization, and productivity enhancement.
Strong leadership, team handling, and communication skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
ITI/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Production Engineering.
