The Production Head will be responsible for end-to-end management of the asafoetida and spice manufacturing and packing unit, ensuring production targets are consistently met with the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety. The role includes overseeing production lines, managing manpower, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and FSSAI guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules in alignment with business requirements.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery and raw materials to achieve production targets.
Oversee production processes for asafoetida, maintaining consistency, taste and quality.
2. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all production activities are in line with SOPs, GMP, HACCP and FSSAI guidelines.
Collaborate with the Quality Control team to monitor product quality at each stage of production.
Identify, report, and rectify deviations in process parameters, hygiene, or product quality promptly.
3. Process Monitoring & Optimization
Supervise mixing, grinding, roasting, blending, and packing operations.
Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce wastage.
Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily production logs, batch records, raw material consumption reports, and wastage data.
Track and report key production KPIs such as yield, output per shift, and downtime.
Support traceability and audit requirements with accurate and timely documentation.
5. Team Coordination & Safety
Supervise and mentor shop-floor staff to ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and operational protocols.
Conduct on-the-job training for operators and workers.
Enforce strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, hygienic production environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
10-15 years in a food or spice manufacturing setup preferred.
Ability to identify and resolve minor production and equipment issues.
Work Environment & Conditions
Factory floor environment with exposure to dust and spice aromas.
Daily interaction with workers.
Shift-based work
(Day shift -2 shifts) with extended standing and close interaction with machinery and equipment.
Must maintain a safe, hygienic, and efficient production environment.
