Role Summary:

The Production Head oversees all production and allied operational functions at RMC Collections, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured output from design to dispatch. This role integrates production planning, raw material procurement, quality control, unit-level execution, packaging, IT systems, and export logistics into a seamless operational model. The Production Head ensures all departments work in harmony to meet buyer expectations while maintaining process discipline and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrated Production Planning & Execution

Develop weekly and monthly production plans aligned with buyer delivery schedules. Review unit capacities (loom, handloom, tufted, finishing) and balance workloads. Approve raw material issuance plans and monitor inventory sufficiency. Monitor production status and resolve bottlenecks. Drive on-time sample and order deliveries in coordination with Merchandising.

Quality Assurance, Process Discipline & Buyer Compliance

Ensure QA systems are implemented across all production stages. Review rejection, rework, and corrective actions. Approve product quality standards and tolerances for new designs. Coordinate pre-shipment and buyer audits with QA and Documentation. Ensure all shipments pass internal quality clearance.

Cross-Functional Coordination (Design, QA, Purchase, IT, Logistics)

Align with Design Head for new product development and feasibility. Coordinate with Purchase Head for material procurement and vendor management. Oversee Documentation & Logistics for dispatch planning and export readiness. Ensure IT systems support all departmental operations. Conduct weekly review meetings with department heads.

Cost Control, Resource Optimization & Efficiency Improvement

Monitor production costs, wastage, and resource utilization. Approve and track purchase indents for accuracy and efficiency. Identify and implement efficiency improvement initiatives. Optimize manpower and workflow across production units.

People Leadership, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Lead and mentor unit and department heads through performance reviews. Implement role-based accountability and periodic evaluations. Foster interdepartmental collaboration and resolve conflicts. Review production, quality, dispatch, and cost reports regularly. Drive automation, ERP integration, and process digitization initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

End-to-end production management across multiple processes. Strategic planning and process integration. Cost control and efficiency optimization. Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. Analytical decision-making and problem-solving under pressure.

Knowledge:

SOPs for QA, loom inspection, packaging, purchase, R&D, documentation, inventory, and design. ERP/tracker usage for production planning and performance monitoring. Rug manufacturing methods (hand-knotted, handloom, tufted, broadloom). Buyer specifications, quality standards, and export requirements.
