Responsible for end-to-end coordination of production activities -- from material planning to final dispatch -- ensuring smooth workflow between in-house teams, job workers, and vendors. This person acts as the central link between cutting, stitching, finishing, and dispatch, making sure every order is completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Tracking
Create and follow daily/weekly production plans based on orders received.
Maintain a tracker for all styles, quantities, and stages (cutting, stitching, finishing, packing).
Monitor production progress at each stage and ensure timely completion.
2. Raw Material & Trim Management
Prepare fabric and trim requirement sheets for every style.
Issue raw materials to job workers and maintain proper records (challans/inward-outward).
Track material balances, wastage, and pending items for reordering.
Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of fabric, buttons, zips, labels, tags, etc.
3. Coordination with Job Workers
Assign work to external stitching/embroidery/printing units as per production plan.
Follow up on their daily progress and resolve any material or pattern-related issues.
Maintain return challans and quality check on received goods.
4. In-House Team Coordination
Coordinate between cutting master, tailor, finishing, and packing team.
Ensure that work is distributed properly and production targets are met.
Support quality checking and highlight production issues immediately.
5. Dispatch & Order Fulfilment
Plan dispatch schedules as per delivery commitments.
Cross-check quantities, labeling, and packing accuracy before dispatch.
Maintain dispatch records and coordinate with courier or transport partners.
6. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain production reports, raw material registers, and job work challans.
Prepare simple Excel or Google Sheet-based dashboards for management review.
Provide daily/weekly status updates on production and pending materials.
Skills & Attributes
Strong follow-up and coordination ability.
Practical understanding of garment production flow (cutting-stitching-finishing-packing).
Basic Excel/Google Sheets knowledge for tracking production and materials.
Good communication with internal staff and external vendors.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Qualification & Experience
1-4 years' experience in production coordination or operations in a garment unit.
Candidates with prior experience in small to mid-size women's or kidswear brands are ideal.
