Job Description

Identify and qualify reliable suppliers

who can provide quality materials and components needed for manufacturing.

Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers

to secure favorable deals and ensure cost-effective procurement.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and planning (productivity) teams to understand material requirements and develop procurement plans.

Review material requisitions from various departments

, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production needs.

Place purchase orders, track order status, and follow up to

ensure timely delivery of materials as per the Master Schedule.

Responsible to

receive all required test certificates and quality-related documents

from suppliers for every purchase.

Build and maintain positive relationships

with suppliers, resolving any issues that may arise and fostering long-term partnerships.

Monitor and manage procurement costs

, seeking opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications

by working closely with quality control teams and

addressing issues if any

and maintain the record of the same.

Coordinate with stores

and inventory management teams to

ensure that the right quantities of materials are available

without excess stock and also

avoid shortage of stocks

.

Conduct

Periodical Vendor Assessment

(preferably for every Purchase Order) to analyze the supplier.
