Job Title: Production Engineer - Automobile Industry Job Summary

The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing manufacturing processes in automobile or auto-component production. The role focuses on improving productivity, ensuring quality, reducing costs, and maintaining safety standards while meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, monitor, and control daily production activities to meet output targets Develop and improve manufacturing processes for automotive components/assemblies Ensure adherence to quality standards such as

ISO/TS/IATF 16949

Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements Coordinate with design, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams Manage manpower, machines, materials, and methods (4M) effectively Implement

Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma

practices Troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtime Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards Support new product development, trials, and process validation Prepare production reports and documentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Industrial Engineering

1-5 years of experience in automobile or auto-component manufacturing (freshers may apply for junior roles) Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as: Machining Welding Casting Forging Assembly lines

Technical Skills

Process planning and time study Production scheduling and capacity planning Root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone) Knowledge of CNC machines, PLC basics (preferred) Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) MS Excel and production reporting tools

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication and teamwork Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Leadership and coordination abilities

Work Environment

Shop-floor based with exposure to manufacturing operations May involve shift work depending on production requirements
