The Production Engineer - VMC & Fabrication is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing VMC machining and fabrication operations to achieve production targets while ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesVMC Machining Operations
Plan and control daily production activities for
VMC/CNC machines
Ensure machines are operated as per process plans and work instructions
Coordinate with programmers for
NC program optimization
Reduce cycle time, improve productivity, and minimize machine downtime
Ensure proper tool selection, tool life monitoring, and fixture usage
Fabrication Operations
Manage fabrication processes including
cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
Ensure fabrication work meets drawing and quality requirements
Coordinate with welding and fabrication teams for smooth workflow
Monitor material utilization and minimize scrap
Production Planning & Control
Prepare and execute
production plans and schedules
Ensure on-time delivery as per customer commitments
Coordinate with stores for material availability
Maintain production reports and daily output records
Quality & Process Control
Ensure adherence to
engineering drawings, GD&T, and SOPs
Coordinate with Quality team for
FAI, in-process, and final inspection
Implement corrective actions to reduce rejection and rework
Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean)
Safety & Compliance
Ensure safe working practices on shop floor
Enforce
5S, PPE usage, and safety guidelines
Ensure compliance with ISO / customer standards
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
VMC machining and fabrication processes
Ability to read and interpret
technical drawings
Basic knowledge of
CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens - preferred)
Familiarity with production planning and shop-floor management
Problem-solving and team coordination skills
Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in
Mechanical / Production Engineering
2-6 years of experience in
VMC machining and fabrication production
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
