We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Production Engineer
to oversee daily operations in our
FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics)
manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in FRP processes such as hand lay-up, filament winding, RTM, or pultrusion, and a strong focus on production efficiency, quality, and team management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, optimizing resources, and driving operational efficiency within the manufacturing unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all FRP production activities to meet daily/weekly targets.
Ensure adherence to production schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.
Monitor labor performance and allocate manpower effectively across shifts.
Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products for compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshoot production issues and work with maintenance/engineering teams to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and shift logs.
Train and guide production staff on FRP processes and equipment handling.
Coordinate with planning, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resources.
Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Production Engineering.
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a Supervisor or similar role in the
FRP / Composites industry
.
In-depth knowledge of FRP manufacturing techniques (e.g., hand lay-up, spray-up, RTM, filament winding, etc.).
Familiar with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other industrial best practices.
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Ability to work in shifts and handle shop floor operations independently.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of ERP systems
like SAP or similar tools for production planning and management.
Familiarity with
composite materials
and their properties, including resin systems, curing methods, and finishing processes.
Experience with
advanced production technologies
such as automated fiberglass layup, molding, or 3D printing for composite parts.
This role requires someone who is not only technically skilled but also an effective manager with the ability to balance quality, productivity, safety, and cost management in a fast-paced environment.
