Introduction: As a Production Engineer you will use a hybrid of development and operate skills to collaborate across disciplines, applying software engineering principles to eliminate repeated manual effort (Toil) and create automated, scalable and reliable services. Actively contribute key initiatives on Operational engineering, Observability engineering, Service Risk engineering and Resiliency engineering to ensure production stability and SLA adherence to our data consumers. What will you be doing . The focus of this role will be to establish engineering discipline within GTSM and drive the agenda throughout the department whilst supporting the wider team objectives . Reduce MTTR throughout the department (Mean Time to Repair) and improve stability . Be consistently excellent at all we do and drive this mindset throughout the department - Make everything we touch better . Drive Full Stack Observability throughout the department and role model how this can be used to achieve our objectives and reduce MTTR . Drive the adoption of Automation and role model how this can be used to drive efficiencies, consistency, reduce MTTR and achieve our objectives . Drive technical excellence and accountability/ownership of the full stack that makes up our services What we\'re looking for: . Practical experience of supporting and maintaining production environments with distributed systems and highly available services . Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure components (for example Linux or Windows Server OS, MS SQL or Oracle Databases, Networks, Load Balancers, Storage, middleware - solace) . Practical experience of Observability/Monitoring solutions (such as AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, Splunk, ELK/elastic or similar) . Working knowledge of programming languages like Java, .net, python. Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines and Repositories, for example Jenkins and GitHub . Good understanding of service resiliency and high availability Skills that will help you in the role: . Experience of working in either a SRE or DevOps model would be desirable, however if you don\'t have experience but do have a passion and a demonstratable understanding of what it means we would still love to hear from you . Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals . Working knowledge or understanding of Investment Banking and how different business work. . Understanding of software skills such as design, development, maintenance, testing and software improvement . Flexibility to react effectively to changing priorities and a willingness to step outside of role boundaries to achieve results. .
