Shift: Rotational shift (First - 7 am to 3 pm, Second - 3pm to 11 pm, Night - 11 pm to 7 am)

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, from design and development to implementation and optimization. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a manufacturing environment and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Optimization:

Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Utilize tools such as Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Production Planning:

Work closely with production planners and schedulers to develop production schedules that meet customer demand while maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime. Ensure that production plans are aligned with inventory levels, equipment capacity, and workforce capabilities.

Equipment Maintenance:

Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to develop preventive maintenance plans for production equipment and machinery. Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions to production operations.

Quality Assurance:

Partner with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for manufactured products. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications. Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

New Product Introduction (NPI):

Lead the transition of new products from the design phase to full-scale production. Work closely with R&D teams to optimize manufacturing processes, develop production documentation, and train production personnel on new procedures and equipment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, logistics, and supply chain to streamline production workflows, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and achieve common goals.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety awareness among production personnel and implement measures to mitigate risks and prevent workplace accidents.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyse production data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor process performance, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress on improvement initiatives to management.

Optimal Utilization:

Allocate manpower based on production needs to avoid overstaffing or understaffing.
