To ensure smooth and efficient production processes by executing the production plan, managing shop floor operations, maintaining quality and safety standards, and continuously driving productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Execution
Execute the Daily Production Plan as per PPC targets.
Allocate manpower shift-wise as per production needs.
Monitor hourly/daily production status and resolve shortfalls.
Ensure batch-wise traceability and maintain WIP flow between stations.
2. Process Control & Monitoring
Supervise all process stages: coil winding, assembly, dipping, curing, and testing.
Ensure parameters align with control plans.
Conduct first-piece approvals at shift start/changeovers.
Regularly update SOPs and Work Instructions in collaboration with QA.
3. Manpower Supervision
Supervise line operators, technicians, and support staff.
Provide on-job training for new and cross-functional operators.
Maintain skill matrix and track operator performance.
Ensure adherence to discipline, attendance, and handover protocols.
4. Quality & Rejection Control
Support in-process and final quality checks with the QA team.
Lead root cause analysis using 5 Whys, Pareto, and Fishbone tools.
Implement and monitor CAPA on production lines.
Prevent mix-up of OK/NOK material in process.
5. Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives
Conduct time studies, line balancing, and process standardization.
Drive 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and other Lean initiatives.
Identify bottlenecks and propose automation or layout improvements.
Participate in cost-reduction and productivity enhancement projects.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain Hourly Production Reports, Daily Production Reports (DPR), and shift logs.
Track and report OEE, Yield, Downtime, and Rejection metrics.
7. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and ensure PPE usage.
Conduct toolbox talks and participate in safety audits.
Report and document near-misses and unsafe conditions.
Ensure fire exits, evacuation paths, and safety devices are operational.
Required Technical Skills:
Understanding of relay manufacturing or electronic assembly processes preferred.
Basic knowledge of electrical testing and instruments.
Familiarity with tools like DV, DMIC, Digital Height Gauge, DMM, and Power Supply.
Ability to read component diagrams, assembly drawings, and process layouts.
Exposure to quality tools: 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, A3, etc.
Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, charts, trackers).
Experience with ERP/SAP or other production management systems.
Soft Skills:
Effective team leadership and workforce management.
Strong communication with QA, Store, Maintenance, and other departments.
Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
Time management and multitasking under pressure.
Flexibility for shift work and extended hours as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Production, or Mechatronics.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a production/process engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
