Job Title: Production Engineer - Fabrication

Job Summary:

The Production Engineer (Fabrication) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising fabrication activities on the shop floor. The role ensures production targets are achieved with quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery while adhering to safety standards. The engineer will also be involved in process improvement, manpower management, and technical support for fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute daily fabrication activities as per production schedule. Review fabrication drawings and ensure jobs are carried out as per specifications. Supervise cutting, welding, bending, machining, and assembly processes. Prepare and maintain in-process inspection reports and ensure quality at every stage. Coordinate with design, quality, and maintenance departments to resolve production issues. Monitor material usage, reduce wastage, and ensure optimum utilization of resources. Ensure final inspection and quality checks before dispatch. Maintain production records, job cards, and daily progress reports. Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other process improvement techniques. Train and guide operators, welders, and helpers for skill development. Ensure adherence to safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules. Support new product development and prototype fabrication.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, grinding, assembly, etc.). Ability to read and interpret fabrication/engineering drawings. Hands-on knowledge of in-process and final inspection as per drawings. Familiarity with welding standards, materials, and fabrication tolerances. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good leadership, communication, and team management abilities. Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks (preferred).

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering. 3-7 years of experience in fabrication industry (structural, sheet metal, heavy fabrication, or similar).

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?22,000.00 per month
