We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Engineer with 3-5 years of relevant experience to oversee fabrication and machining operations in Unit I. The role involves managing daily shop-floor activities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery in close coordination with the PPC department.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Execution
Execute daily production as per job cards issued by the PPC department.
Allocate manpower and resources effectively across welding, machining, and fitting sections.
Ensure material, tools, and job drawings are ready for uninterrupted job execution.
Supervise all processes to meet output and quality targets within given timelines.
Monitoring & Reporting
Maintain daily production and output reports, downtime logs, and rejection data.
Track operator-wise and machine-wise performance.
Report production status and bottlenecks to the Production Manager.
Technical Oversight
Interpret fabrication/machining drawings and guide shop floor teams accordingly.
Ensure critical jobs are executed with dimensional accuracy and welding/fabrication standards.
Liaise with QC for stage-wise and final inspection.
Department Coordination
Coordinate with
PPC

Stores
,
Purchase
, and
Quality
teams to ensure timely material availability and smooth workflow.
Participate in daily review meetings to update job status and plan corrective actions if needed.
Safety & 5S Compliance
Ensure workers follow all safety norms and wear PPE on the shop floor.
Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards across assigned work areas.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
3 to 5 years of relevant shop-floor experience in a fabrication or machining unit.
Key Skills:
Strong understanding of production processes: fabrication (welding, gas cutting, grinding) and machining (lathe, milling, VMC, CNC).
Ability to manage manpower and production deadlines effectively.
Familiarity with PPC systems, ISO/QMS documentation, and ERP-based reporting.
Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
