Job Summary:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production process in our plastic injection molding plant. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products, while adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement daily/weekly production schedules to meet targets and customer demands.
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Allocate resources effectively (manpower, machines, materials) to optimize output.
Process Optimization & Improvement:
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production line and implement corrective actions.
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in cycle times, material usage, and scrap reduction.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Control:
Monitor product quality throughout the production cycle, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Work closely with the Quality Control team to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Team Management & Training:
Supervise and lead a team of production operators and technicians.
Provide training and guidance to the production team on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
Foster a productive and safe working environment.
Machine & Equipment Management:
Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely machine setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Ensure proper use and upkeep of production machinery.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate production records, reports on output, quality, downtime, and resource utilization.
Prepare daily/weekly production reports for management review.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies on the production floor.
Promote a safety-first culture and conduct regular safety audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in production management, specifically in a
plastic injection moulding plant
.
Strong understanding of injection moulding processes, parameters, and machinery.
Knowledge of different plastic resins and their processing characteristics.
Experience with quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., 7 QC Tools, SPC, FMEA).
Proven ability to lead and motivate a production team.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
