Job Purpose:

To lead production activities for fabrication, machining, and assembly of equipment and systems related to solids handling and automation. Ensure production targets, quality, safety, and delivery timelines are met through effective planning, execution, and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Execution

Plan and execute daily production schedules based on project timelines and job priorities.

Allocate manpower and resources to meet production targets across fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly.

Coordinate with design and purchase departments to ensure availability of drawings and materials.

Monitor in-process work to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.

2. Equipment & System Fabrication

Supervise manufacturing of equipment like screw conveyors, bin activators, mixers, hoppers, valves, and piping skids.

Ensure compliance with fabrication drawings, welding quality, and tolerances.

Coordinate with the QA/QC team for stage-wise and final inspections.

Provide hands-on technical guidance to production teams on complex assemblies or automation setups.

3. Resource & Team Management

Supervise shop-floor personnel including welders, fitters, fabricators, riggers, and helpers.

Maintain discipline, safety, and 5S practices on the shop floor.

Evaluate team performance and support skill development.

Coordinate with contractors or outsourced fabrication vendors when needed.

4. Process Improvement & Efficiency

Identify bottlenecks in production processes and recommend improvements.

Optimize machine utilization, reduce rework/rejections, and improve cycle times.

Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitor and control production costs and wastage.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain production logs, job cards, shift reports, and daily progress updates.

Track material consumption and return unused items to stores.

Coordinate with planning and project teams for project-wise progress reporting.

Assist in preparing documentation for client inspection or FAT readiness.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, and assembly techniques.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and welding symbols.

Hands-on experience in mechanical/automation equipment assembly.

Good leadership and shop-floor coordination skills.

Knowledge of production planning tools and ERP systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

Experience:

5-8 years of experience in a fabrication/engineering environment, with exposure to solids handling or automation projects preferred.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, on-site/shopfloor-based role.

Moderate physical presence in fabrication and assembly areas.

Occasional extended hours during urgent project delivery or FAT.

Interaction with design, QC, stores, purchase, and project execution teams.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
