Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Drawing & Drafting:
Develop accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD/CAM drawings for furniture components
based on design specifications.
Create exploded views, part drawings, and assembly instructions suitable for manufacturing
and joinery.
Prepare cutting lists, material specifications, and hardware fittings required for production.
2. Design Interpretation:
Understand and interpret architectural drawings, mood boards, and sketches provided by
interior designers or architects.
Convert concepts into shop drawings, highlighting material junctions, edge details, and
fixing methods.
3. Coordination:
Collaborate with designers, production teams, CNC operators, and carpenters to ensure
manufacturability of designs.
Revise drawings based on feedback from production, site conditions, or client comments.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for standard fittings and ensure compatibility in
design.
4. Documentation & Standardisation:
Maintain organised drawing files with revision control and drawing registers.
Develop and implement standard drawing templates and blocks for repeated furniture items.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, safety codes, and best practices in
carpentry and joinery.
5. Quality Assurance:
Cross-check dimensions and tolerances to avoid production errors.
Perform site measurements when needed and adjust drawings accordingly.
Ensure all drawings are clear, unambiguous, and support error-free manufacturing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial
Design, or related technical field.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the furniture, interior
fit-out, or woodworking industry.
Software Proficiency: AutoCAD (mandatory), SketchUp, SolidWorks, or other 3D
modeling software; knowledge of CNC programming is Mandatory.
Strong understanding of furniture construction techniques, materials (wood, MDF, metal,
veneer, laminate), and hardware fittings.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a high-end joinery workshop or luxury furniture production
environment.
Knowledge of modular furniture systems, ergonomics, and design for manufacturability
(DFM).
Familiarity with BIM or Revit integration (if coordinating with architectural teams).
Working Conditions:
Office and workshop environment.
Occasional site visits for measurements or installation coordination.
May require overtime during critical project phases
