Supervise chemical production processes, from raw materials to finished products, and develop plans to improve efficiency and quality.
Quality control:
Ensure that final products meet strict quality and customer specifications through laboratory tests and by coordinating with the quality control department.
Safety and compliance:
Implement and maintain safety procedures, environmental regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., GMP, ISO).
Troubleshooting:
Investigate and resolve production deviations and issues to prevent future problems.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records, including batch manufacturing records (BMRs), log books, and calibration records.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with other teams, including quality assurance, warehouse, and production operators, to ensure timely and efficient production.
Training:
Train and assist junior chemists and operators on test procedures and production guidelines.
Required skills and qualifications
Education:
Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of chemistry, chemical processes, and laboratory equipment.
Skills:
Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience:
Experience in a production environment, preferably within a specific industry (e.g., cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, colorants), is often preferred.
