Production & Calibration TechnicianJob Summary
The Production & Calibration Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating, and maintaining measurement and control instruments in accordance with documented procedures and quality standards. This role supports production throughput, ensures metrological accuracy, and maintains traceability to national/international standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Assembly
Assemble electronic, electrical, and electromechanical instruments as per drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
Perform wiring, soldering (through-hole/SMD), mechanical fitting, and sub-assembly integration.
Identify and rectify assembly defects; support continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Maintain production records, travelers, and traceability documentation.
Calibration & Testing
Calibrate temperature, pressure, electrical, dimensional, and related instruments using approved procedures.
Operate calibration equipment such as dry blocks, pressure controllers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, reference standards, and environmental chambers.
Perform functional testing, burn-in, and final inspection prior to dispatch.
Generate and review calibration reports and certificates; ensure uncertainty statements where applicable.
Maintain calibration status labels and recall systems for internal equipment.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and internal quality procedures (as applicable).
Maintain measurement traceability to national/international standards.
Participate in audits, proficiency testing, and inter-laboratory comparisons when required.
Follow ESD, safety, and 5S practices.
Equipment & Maintenance
Maintain calibration benches, fixtures, and reference standards in good working condition.
Assist with preventive maintenance and verification of lab equipment.
Report equipment drift, failures, or non-conformances promptly.
Documentation & Coordination
Update SOPs, work instructions, and calibration methods under guidance.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D, and Service teams to resolve technical issues.
Support customer or field calibration activities when required.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
Technical Skills
Practical knowledge of measurement principles and calibration techniques.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Familiarity with calibration software, data logging, and MS Excel.
Understanding of uncertainty, repeatability, resolution, and traceability (preferred).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new instruments and standards.
Working Conditions
Laboratory and production floor environment.
