Job Summary

The Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance and control processes for solar panel manufacturing. This role ensures that all products meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards while driving continuous improvement in production processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in quality management systems, electroluminescence (EL) testing, and a strong technical background in manufacturing, with a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Systems:

Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards for solar panel manufacturing.

Process Monitoring:

Oversee quality control processes across all stages of production, including raw material inspection, assembly, and final testing of solar panels.

EL Testing Expertise:

Lead electroluminescence (EL) testing processes to detect defects such as micro-cracks, dead cells, or soldering issues in solar panels, ensuring high reliability and performance.

Testing & Validation:

Ensure solar panels meet performance, durability, and safety standards (e.g., IEC 61215, IEC 61730) through rigorous testing, including EL testing and other validation protocols.

Defect Analysis:

Identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues using EL testing data and other methods, implementing root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to minimize defects and improve yield.

Supplier Quality Management:

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials (e.g., silicon wafers, encapsulants, backsheets) meet quality specifications.

Team Leadership:

Manage and train a team of quality inspectors and technicians, including training on EL testing techniques, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.

Continuous Improvement:

Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance product reliability using methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean.

Compliance & Audits:

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and conduct internal/external audits to maintain certifications.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of quality metrics, EL test results, and process documentation for traceability and reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to integrate quality standards, including EL testing insights, into new product designs and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial), Quality Management, or a related field. Master's degree or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in solar panel or electronics manufacturing. Demonstrated expertise in electroluminescence (EL) testing for solar panel quality control. Proven track record of implementing QMS and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of solar panel manufacturing processes, materials, and testing standards (e.g., IEC, UL), with specific expertise in EL testing equipment and analysis. Proficiency in quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D, Pareto analysis). Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams. Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.

Certifications:

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or similar certifications preferred.

Pay: ?20,059.27 - ?62,729.55 per month
