To lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within an injection moulding manufacturing environment. Ensure all products meet internal and customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
Maintain, update, and improve the QMS in line with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 13485 standards as applicable.
Lead internal and external audits; ensure compliance and corrective actions.
Product Quality Assurance:
Ensure all moulded parts meet customer and internal specifications.
Oversee First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAP, SPC, and CMM reporting.
Manage dimensional inspections and cosmetic evaluations.
Customer Focus:
Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer issues.
Handle customer complaints (CAPA, 8D, RCA), lead investigations, and ensure timely resolution.
Monitor customer satisfaction and initiate improvement actions as needed.
Supplier Quality Management:
Work with purchasing to evaluate and qualify suppliers.
Lead supplier audits and manage incoming quality inspection processes.
Team Leadership:
Supervise QA inspectors, technicians, and engineers.
Provide training and development to enhance team performance.
Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Process Improvement:
Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.).
Support production and engineering with process validation and capability studies.
Monitor and analyze quality KPIs (scrap rate, customer returns, etc.).
Requirements:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a quality management role, preferably in injection moulding or plastics manufacturing.
Strong understanding of plastic part defects, tool qualification, and moulding process controls.
Experience with ISO/IATF standards and customer audits (automotive, medical, or consumer products sectors).
Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in quality tools: SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, 8D, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with quality software and MS Office; knowledge of ERP/MES systems preferred.
