: Product Manager - Market Product Offering

This Position is part of Enterprise Solution Group within Morningstar.
The Role
Morningstar is looking for a Product Owner (PO) to enhance & support our Markets APIs and components product line. The Product Manager will work closely with the development squad in coordination with commercial product managers and other stakeholders. Supporting the existing client solutions is a key part of this role, which involves escalating any issues, providing a roadmap for supporting the existing client base, and focusing on product improvements.
The Product Owner is also responsible for developing, prioritizing, and executing on the product roadmap And advancing design and development activities to solve for any feature Gaps
They work across job functions and geographies to deliver Market APIs and components to various internal and external clients. This includes understanding the competitive market and relevant software offerings, understanding the problems for Market product offerings.
Designation of Product Manager or Associate Product Manager is subjected to years of profession experience, fitment assessment for this role and associated responsibilities.
This role is based in our Navi Mumbai office.
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with commercial product managers, product leaders, UX and UI designers, development team to set short term, medium term & strategic priorities for Markets product offering and iterate on feature enhancements in an Agile development framework.

  • Work cross-functionally with development, Data, Research, Software, and other corporate teams to solve complex issues and communicate product enhancements and updates.
  • Develop business requirements, manage conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders, and build/maintain the product roadmap for Markets product offering
  • Translate requests and requirements from internal stakeholders and external clients into detailed user stories.
  • Maintain and consistently groom the product backlog, review tickets, communicate roadmap direction and priorities to dev team members and key stakeholders and address any roadblocks.

  • Make stakeholders aware of updates from dependency teams and other product units that can impact the business and address them accordingly.
  • Collaborate as a unified cross-functional team inspired by a common vision and promote this vision across teams to create excitement and shared success with the broader organization.
  • Participate in improvising operational processes to address any deficiency
  • Use data to inform development and test hypotheses, and work with commercial product managers to set relevant KPIs and measurements of product success (e.g. transition completion, customer satisfaction, usage, time to market, etc.) to guide next steps.
  • Apply a professional, timely, and proactive approach to escalated client issues and calls.
  • Evolve & act as a go-to person for Key client Managers for product questions, issues, feature enhancements and the implementation of business requirements and configuration changes.
  • Seek feedback from global product groups around client difficulties and/or concerns over quality and stability & improvise products / processes to bring quality & stability
  • Step in and help with product testing, as needed.

Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science or related field is required;
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant and progressive experience in product management
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, planning, and analytical skills.
  • An ability to be creative and think strategically when it comes to prioritization, problem solving & process enhancement.
  • Knowledge of Market Data & its offerings is required
  • Hands on experience & knowledge of building APIs & related tools
  • Strong preference of experience in the financial services industry with knowledge of investment products (Primarily Equity Market)
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines across multiple teams (design, development, product, marketing, and sales) and locations, with off-shore calls.
  • Ability to communicate & deal with development team and experience with Agile development is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Morningstar products and the markets they serve is required (For internal candidates)
