Position Summary:

As the product manager of KubeVirt and Metal3 you will be expected to lead Platform9's virtualization and bare metal services roadmap for on-premises environments and work closely with our Edge team to ensure success no matter where our customers choose to deploy. In this role you will be responsible designing the UX for KubeVirt and Metal3, ensuring the services remain current with upstream and drive innovation at Platform9 and the open source community.

You will be joining a team of hands-on technical product leaders that use our products every day, engage with our users daily and take a fail-fast approach to prototyping and launching new features

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work with the engineering and product teams to define Platform9's product strategy and roadmap for key parts of our KubeVirt and Metal3 services.
• Work closely with Platform9 customers and the broad community of open-source users and contributors to build a deep understanding of their processes and pain points.
• Write product requirements and design the end-to-end user experience for new features.
• Collaborate with engineering to define each release and manage sprints.
• Write technical documentation, blogs and host webinars.
• Transform your knowledge and expertise into innovative solutions that redefine how hybrid and edge cloud technology is consumed
• Define metrics for customer engagement and product success and ensure measurement and execution.
• Act as a trusted advisor for Platform9 customers, communicate roadmap, enable successful product deployment and consumption.
• Work with the go-to-market team (sales, marketing) to enable sales by providing training on new features, collateral, battle cards, and other necessary content.
• Be the voice of our customers internally to the Platform9 team, proactively communicate requirements and own the product roadmap.
• Communicate best practices, reference architectures and other training material to customers.

Preferred Skills:

• BS/MS in Computer science with minimum 2 years of experience building enterprise software products.
• Strong sense of initiative.
• Outstanding planning and coordination skills
• Curious and willing to be hands on with Kubernetes.
• Exceptional verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to lead through influence.
• Detail oriented, proactive, energetic, creative, and love working on hard problems.
• Domain knowledge of containers, virtualization, technologies such as VMware, Linux/KVM, docker and Kubernetes
• Background in any of the following is a plus: enterprise storage, agile, UX and SaaS Operations.
• Enjoys discovering customer use cases, identifying gaps and resolving issues in the product.
• Passion for cloud technologies
• A background in product management, sales engineering or customers success is a plus
• To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a team player with a strong sense of ownership for your work and a passion for working in a data driven organization.
