Roles and Responsibilities

As a Costing Integrator he/she is in charge of coordinating all cost preparation activities and deliver a consolidated solution to CommOps Proposal Leader, in line with the project strategy and our internal rules.

The Costing Integrator is the main interface between the CoE (Center of Excellence) Costing team and the CommOps Organization.

He/She is the warrant of the cost consolidation, cost transparency, competitiveness and cost solidity of the tender. The Costing Integrator is in charge to support all CommOps gates reviews during ITO phase and to manage a solid hand over with OTR team. The Costing Integrator will also do Preparation and approval of industrial scheme, Lead meetings to reach target cost, obtain validation for all function on cost, Participate in feed back of experience, closely work with all of his colleagues from different regions to share best practices and tender optimisation.

As a Product costing specialiststhe person should have in-depth knowledge of the Generator & auxiliaries for which they are responsible, its cost structure and its optimization levers. They must ensure, under the guidance of the Product Costs Leader, to prepare the most competitive costing possible by applying the best cost base, the best rates and industrial schemes, in line with the Manufacturing and Sourcing policy and the requirements of the specifications.

Product Costing Specialist maintains close contact with technical tendering, Sourcing / Supply Chain and manufacturing teams and provides the best costs at the request of the Costing Integrator. They are specifically dedicated to one of our main products: turbine, generator, Generator, Generator, control system and Hydro Mecha.Generator & Auxiliaries Costing Specialist, is part of GE Hydro Costing Center of Excellence, and will cover complete hydro generators in our portfolio, for new projects and for refurbishments.

He/She is responsible for issuing on time an optimized cost solution for the product for which he is responsible, ensuring that his proposal is the most suitable for the project's needs, in line with the strategy and the agreed deadline.

In this function, he/she must work with all the functions involved in the technical solution, supply chain / sourcing, to build the most competitive proposal.

He/She reports hierarchically to the Regional Costing Manager in India, who is in charge of managing the local Indian costing team and developing and distributing the most appropriate tools and cost bases.

He/She executes the detailed costing of hydro Generator using the available estimation tools made available to him while ensuring that the Industrial Scheme set is well optimized and in line with the internal policy of the company and the project strategy.

He/She insures that data from the Technical Service are available on time and adapted to the project in terms of scope and quantities

He/She challenges internal functions (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineering) to obtain an optimized cost in line with the target cost defined at the beginning of the project.

He/She estimates the cost of components/equipment not covered by the costing tools (HCT) and initiates internal requests for quotations with our various departments (Sourcing) to reach the target cost set and readjust it throughout the duration of the offer.

He/She ensures that his cost sheet is validated by the different functions before being validated by the Costing management, because he guarantees the solidity of his costing.

He/She sends estimates in time to the Costing Integrator and identifies the risks and opportunities related to the proposal.

Gradually, depending on the load and the need, the Generator Costing Specialist will also be able to ensure the consolidation of costs for an entire project.

Required Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech. Electrical engineering degree with 3 - 5 years' experience in cost estimation or 7-10 years' experience in product purchasing and/or technical tendering of generator.

Technical knowledge of Generator components.

Technical understanding of electrical balance of plant equipment / systems.

Desired Characteristics

Good knowledge of IT tools (Excel, SAP , outlook, power point )

Network person able to work with internal customers, experts, suppliers. He is rigorous, proactive and able to adapt to different internal requests.

Good knowledge of different Generator components (industrial, technical, industrial scheme), of cost factors, in order to be a reliable contact person for product optimization.

Proactive, cost-oriented and result-oriented, but knowing how to challenge yourself to present the best proposal and win offers and achieve committed delivery dates
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
