Job Overview

TE Connectivity\'s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Sealed and screened harnesses, open harnesses to suit customer requirement and build to print harness requirements.
• Usage of HarnWare or equivalent software\'s for harness designs
• Generate and maintain project documentation including schematics, PD/CD drawings, test data, and reports where applicable
• Plan and record results of design and development activities, including validation testing where applicable
• Design to cost target.
• Manage Bill of Materials for new products.
• Responsible to ensure compliance coding of products per corporate requirements(REACH & RoHS)
• Collaborates with other colleagues and peers
• To contribute to achieving departmental targets - specifically \'Delivery on Time\' to quality targets for development and sustaining activities.
• Strong working experience on reading and interpreting engineering drawings/product prints, technical signoff
• Able to update product drawings and engineering documents, create Engineering Changes and Product Customer Notifications. Support design engineer for some specific tasks.
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Manager.
• Onsite customer interaction and engagement based on project requirements.
• Product enquiry, feasibility study and timely execution of task.

Skills

• 2D and 3D harnessing and routing
• Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620C wiring harness
• Creo 4.0 (Creo Cabling would be added advantage)
• ZWCAD/AutoCAD/Visio
• ECR/ECN process using PDM Windchill
• Harnware
• MS Office

What your background should look like:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• BE/ B.Tech (Electrical Eng./ Mechanical Eng)
• Able to utilize Excel/Word for engineering document updates

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• 3 to 5 years of experience working in harness domain
• Harness design using Harnware or equivalent packs
• Experience in selection of suitable connectors, cables & other harness accessories/products
• Comprehensive knowledge on harness manufacturing
• Experience in direct interaction with customers.
• Working knowledge in electrical product designs
• Ability to work as a Team player
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Good Problem solving and Analytical Skills.
