Overview:

The Product Development Manager (PDM) for Cake Items is responsible for driving the innovation, development, promotion, and strategic business growth of cake-based products. This role combines culinary creativity with market insight and commercial strategy to expand the brand's presence and profitability in the bakery and dessert segment.

Key Responsibilities:1. Product Development

Lead the end-to-end development of new cake products--from concept to commercialization. Work with R&D, chefs, and quality teams to create innovative, market-relevant cakes (flavors, formats, packaging). Analyze consumer trends, seasonal demand, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities.

2. Market Research & Consumer Insights

Conduct regular market research to identify gaps and preferences in target segments (retail, HoReCa, B2B). Use customer feedback and sales data to refine existing products and plan new launches.

3. Promotion Strategy

Develop marketing and promotional campaigns (seasonal offers, tastings, launches) in collaboration with the marketing team. Design and execute promotional materials for point-of-sale and online campaigns. Organize and support trade shows, food festivals, and sampling events.

4. Business Development

Identify and develop new business opportunities, including partnerships with cafes, hotels, restaurants, and retailers. Negotiate and secure strategic deals to increase distribution and sales volume. Work closely with the sales team to set targets, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts.

5. Cross-functional Coordination

Liaise with production, procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure efficient product rollout. Ensure all new items meet food safety, shelf-life, and packaging standards.
