Overview: The Product Engineer, within the Wear Components Engineering group, would work with Customers to understand their requirements and facilitate agreement where New Albany process limitations would require deviation from those requirements. The Engineer would then document agreed upon product specifications. The individual would also document processes to achieve and verify the same for the New Albany Business Unit. This Engineer would work closely with manufacturing to ensure products are produced swiftly, properly, and efficiently. Individual will have specific product responsibility and manage new product development and process improvement projects through Kennametal\'s stage gate process. The position will be located in the New Albany Plant to foster collaboration with manufacturing and the technical resources on site. The Candidate will also collaborate with the team in Bangalore to provide technical support and information regarding product design and process requirements. Responsibilities: . Position would provide technical support to sales, customers, suppliers, outside contractors and internal personnel. . Prepare quotations for Pump Components for both US and international sales. . Primary Focus on the support of present industrial clad products in New Albany and new product development for the same. .Ensuring that all product and process documentation is clear and accurate. . Executing manufacturing readiness for new product launches working with manufacturing to ensure all processes and procedures are in place prior to product launch. Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills): . 4 year engineering degree is preferred. Relevant machining and/or product experience will also be considered. . Machining experience a definite plus. . Experience working with sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams. . Demonstrated experience with facilitating strong collaboration/communication across multiple organizational levels and geographic locations. . Strong written and oral communication skills. . Strong competency in customer focus (both internal and external) to ensure project objectives meet the customer\'s needs . Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Project Management Software (e.g. MS Project), and demonstrated ability to learn other business software. SAP, NX, and Lean experience is a plus .Willingness to travel as needed to support the job responsibilities outside of New Albany. . US Citizenship Required.
