Business environment

The core functionalities of the reservations systems (GDS and PSS) are the ability to search, book and ticket travel segments. The AIR/OFR divisions develops products to find and provide availability to the customer prior to a pricing and a reservation. These products are designed to serve airline inventories to distributors (travel agencies, online travel agencies) and new intermediaries (meta-search, new media players like ad. networks).

In this market in constant evolution with strong players (Google/ITA, Kayak, Expedia\xe2\x80\xa6) and competitors Amadeus AIR/OFR puts the focus on analytics, AB testing and big data to analyze the impact of different strategies on the conversion between search and booking and to measure the cost of these strategies applied to our products and flows.

In this environment the mission of the Booking Flow Monitoring (BFM) application is to provide KPIs to departments/divisions helping them to tune the settings of their applications, to try new settings in order to increase their conversion rate, to compare different strategies, to investigate customer issues, etc.

In this scope, BFM is a transversal team and application dealing with areas as diverse as Shopping, Availability, Booking, Ticketing.

To fulfill its mission BFM relies on solutions gathering data from thousands of servers from data center and public clouds. BFM analyzes this huge volume of data and provides KPIs, statistics and correlated views on airlines, offices, products and flows.

In terms of technologies, this means a strong convergence of different frameworks and areas with challenges from Big Data to the Cloud, from C++ to UI development and much more.

Purpose

By joining the BFM team, you will join one the Scrum dedicated to BFM, covering platforms ranging from OBE (C++/Python) to Hadoop, UI development (Angular), data storage (MySQL/Elastic Search) and access (reporting products, REST API, \xe2\x80\xa6).

You will be part of the BFM evolution towards the Cloud and you will contribute in the definition of the architecture to correlate data from public clouds and data center and in the implementation of the solution.

Key Accountabilities

As a Product Definition Analyst (PDA) your role will be focused on functional analysis: you are responsible to analyses requirements, propose solutions, estimate the cost, write specifications and coordinate every impacted actor.

You will:

_ Build, maintain and share the functional knowledge of our processes, services and usage of end user products.

_ Analyze business requirements submitted by Product Management and Delivery teams.

_ Size specification and validation work.

\xe2\x97\x8f Carry out functional design

_ Write Feasibility Studies, Solution Overview Documents, Interface Control Documents, Product Specifications and present

functional walk-throughs to all concerned stakeholders.

_ Interface with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure

functional compatibility.

_ Validate the product to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, and give sign off

_ Ensure production integrity by investigating, validating and prioritizing reported incidents.

_ Overview our non-regression

_ Interface and communicate with Product Management, Project management, Amadeus Customer Services, Implementation, Delivery, Migration and Development teams.

_ Interface with the customer (internal or external) during requirements understanding, functional specification, and testing and implementation phases.

Education

University degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience

Good English verbal and written communication skills

Relevant Work Experience

Your previous work experience

4-7 years of experience in Software Product Analyst / Business Analyst

You have specific knowledge on

Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office tools Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and Word, UML.

Technical writing skills

Prior experience working in the Travel domain in the capacity of a Business Analyst would be a plus.

Exposure to documentation, analysis and business requirements management techniques

Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Ability to communicate business information to a technical audience

Specific Knowledge: Agile experience/knowledge preferred
