Product Configuration Modeler (PCM) - Master Data

Your challenge

The Commercial Configuration and Product Lifecycle Data Management (PLDM) function is part of the Philips Health System product data domain. Philips Healthcare is transforming towards new business models such as integrated propositions and solutions delivery. The Product Configuration Modeler (PCM) is expected to work closely with the Product Configuration Advisor (PCA) in transforming the Health System catalog across Philips to meet the demands of various business models i.e. software, integrated solutions, integrated services, pay per use, pay per subscription etc. The PCM is envisaged to be a key role supporting the PCA who should be thinking out of the box, working very closely with the businesses, transformation programs, and business process owners to come with designs and setting up the solutions. The PCA's be supporting business transformation initiatives as well as our businesses/solution owners to create, maintain, improve, and advise on the standards for product and catalog data across Philips business processes. The PCM's in turn are expected to use these standards and execute on our operational commitments across all of the integrated Applications in the Health care domain. You will further support he PCA's in deploying new standards, support remapping existing catalogs into new ways of working in Center of excellence (CoE).

Your responsibilities

  • Execute the set-up of Philips Health system catalog (for e.g.: creating products, systems, software and solutions in general known as "Configurable Sales Products, CSP's" across all integrated applications based on the advice and design received from PCA's
  • Ensure that the pre-defined standards are adhered to while executing the specification in the configuration management systems, CPQ systems, commercial ERP systems, factory systems and sales tools
  • Supporting the PCA's on all product lifecycle topics such as drive standardized/optimize Commercial Product Specification across various CSP's in the various Businesses and Markets. This includes many aspects such as the feature and options setup or the solution configuration rules to ensure maximum harmonization/leverage and implement ability throughout the systems landscape
  • Be the focal point in the Catalog Centre of Excellence (CoE) in ensuring that only validated, released configurations can be quoted, ordered, built and shipped and the necessary documentation is in place (both for the validation evidence and for the supply chain processes e.g. shipping papers)
  • Support projects and programs as we go through business transformation and implementing the future ways of working for product catalogs
  • Manage data for different product archetypes e.g. simple products, configurable products (integrated hardware & software), software only products, services and solution
  • Carry out independent configuration audits or peer reviews on Configurable Sales Products-level to verify the configuration item integrity (status accounting)
  • Be a strong layer of support to the PCA's in ensuring that we are able to release our Catalog according to the release calendar with high quality and precision

Given the nature of the job, you will be working closely with many stakeholders in the Philips Health Systems Business Units and Markets that take part in the Product Lifecycle Data Management processes and new business introduction processes.

We are looking for candidates with
  • Knowledge and experience on Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as SFDC, Apttus, Siebel, Sofon, SAP-BOM, PTC Windchill etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in business processes around configuration, Quote and Price (CPQ) is essential. Understanding the way catalogs are setup and used in both the businesses as well as markets would be very value adding
  • Candidates with good understanding of "Pricing of Products in a Quote to Order" scenario would be preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of business processes such as Marketing, Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain account management would be added advantage
  • An ability to think beyond assigned areas to come out with solution alternatives would be key to your success; "Problem solving mindset", Analytical in approach but very much open to execute operational tasks
  • Experience in working in a team environment to deliver team goals; Displays an ability to influence stakeholders
  • Structured and meticulous in execution; "First Time Right" attitude is a MUST
  • Experience in Lean and Daily Management Methodologies
  • Attention to details as you would be required to work with lot of finer aspects of data where Quality is paramount
  • Be Open to learning various business process and new applications
  • Educational Qualification of bachelor degree or higher, preferably in Engineering subjects
  • 3+ years' experience in international, large size / complex business environment
  • Prior work experience in in regulated environments (i.e. FDA regulations) such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals or Aerospace would be very valuable
  • 3+ years' experience with product master data and/or CPQ tools such as SFDC, APTTUS, SAP, SOFON, SIEBEL, PTC Windchill
  • 3+ years' experience in CPQ or associated business process/domains
  • Strong communicative skills, verbal and written
  • Exposure to Philips or any prior experience is a plus
  • Overall Experience: 5-10 years Bachelors B.Tech must, masters preferred
  • Typically acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others, with about 5-15 resources
  • Needs adequate freedom to act to determine HOW to solve occurring issues
