The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities within the assembly line to ensure efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and timely delivery of products. This role involves managing a team of assembly operators, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and production targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Supervision
Plan, organize, and monitor daily assembly operations to meet production schedules and targets.
Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment effectively.
Ensure optimal line balance and minimize downtime.
2. Quality Assurance
Ensure that all assembly work meets company quality standards and specifications.
Identify and address defects or process issues promptly.
Work closely with the Quality Department to implement corrective and preventive actions.
3. Team Management
Supervise, train, and motivate assembly operators to achieve departmental goals.
Conduct daily team briefings and communicate production plans and safety instructions.
Monitor attendance, performance, and discipline of team members.
4. Process Improvement
Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify areas for productivity enhancement and waste reduction.
Support process optimization and equipment maintenance activities.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct routine safety checks and promote a culture of safety among the team.
6. Reporting & Coordination
Maintain daily production and performance records.
Report deviations, delays, or issues to the Production Manager.
Coordinate with Planning, Quality, and Maintenance teams for smooth workflow.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience:
3-7 years of experience in an assembly or production supervisory role, preferably in the automotive, electronics, or manufacturing industry.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of assembly processes, production planning, and lean manufacturing.
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in MS Office and production reporting tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, on-site role.
May require working in shifts depending on production schedule.
