Role Overview

The Procurement Specialist - Packaging will lead the secondary packaging procurement and support the primary packaging procurement for all Coca-Cola Bottling Investments Group (BIG) Bottlers as well as the 'World Without Waste' packaging initiatives for the BIG bottlers in alignment with the goals of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC). The role works closely with these Bottlers and Cross Enterprise

Procurement Group to develop sourcing strategies, execute sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, and help BIG Bottlers implement packaging solutions that create business value.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze, map and understand the packaging needs of all the Bottlers within BIG.
  • Together with the BIG Procurement COE lead, co-develop BIG's primary and secondary packaging procurement strategies using technical expertise, knowledge of Bottler requirements, and in alignment with CEPG category strategies.
  • Co-lead regional sourcing initiatives to meet business requirements and maximize value to the BIG bottlers.
  • Do category and supplier research to understand the market as part of sourcing initiatives.
  • Co-lead and participate in negotiations of global or regional master agreements that result in preferential pricing, terms and conditions for BIG.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder groups and influence them to ensure implementation of sourcing as well as savings initiatives to deliver business goals.
  • Work with TCCC Operating Units and Bottlers to develop and implement 'World Without Waste' initiatives and strategies for the packaging category, in alignment with TCCC goals.
  • Identify, classify, maintain, and protect files, documentation and sensitive information consistent with record handling and retention requirements.
  • Develop regional Supplier Relationship Management by monitoring performance of all suppliers to ensure continuous improvement & development in quality of goods supplied and services rendered.
  • Promote and ensure compliance to Coke's Business Principles, Policies, Compliances and standards including Contract Management
Key Competencies

Procurement Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and applications in diverse categories to deliver value for the business. Includes the ability to use industry knowledge and the business requirements to develop and implement optimized solutions.
Contracts and Agreements:
  • Ability to read, edit and interpret contractual documentation. Knowledge of contract terms, applications and legal requirements, including the ability to manage performance to contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to explain requirements contained in agreements. Knowledge of the types of agreements and the appropriate usage under various customer circumstances.
  • Ability to explain, at a high level, the legal implications of a contract agreement.
  • Ability to lead the process of completing and compiling agreements.
  • Ability to insert contract language that operationalizes business relationships with suppliers in order to protect Coca-Cola interests and withstand legal challenges.

Role Qualification
  • 5+ Years of experience
  • Experience in Packaging Procurement / Analytics roles in large manufacturing organizations (preferably include Bottling Operations), working in matrixed global environment
  • Engineering Degree and / or Business Administration degree / CPA with Supply Chain Finance background
