As a Software Category Sourcing Specialist, you will provide support to the Category Manager for the complete Software category which includes the following areas of spend: On-prem business application software, DB software, Desktop, server software, and Cloud / SaaS subscriptions. You will be responsible for the successful commercial and contractual completion of software sourcing activities (including engagement with legal, InfoSec, and other compliance functions as appropriate). Ensuring software assets are managed to ensure: o License compliance o Continued support services. o Renewals are in line with business needs. o Opportunitiesfor costreductionarecontinuallyexplored. o Creative contract options are explored with software suppliers and resellers. . Working with product owners and stakeholders to gather software license requirements for new products and renewals. . Negotiating software contracts/renewals with suppliers to achieve the best value. . Utilizing asset management tools available in XL Catlin to ensure software assets are managed effectively and usage is monitored by stakeholders. . Ensuring that stakeholders understand the restrictions of license agreements. . Calculating license compliance positions and supporting software audits. . Coordinating license re-harvesting activities with product owners. . Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of software agreements in the contract database and other asset management tools. . Maintaining and updating license trackers to keep the recent license position in line with completed purchases and renewals. You will report to the Software Category Manager. SHARE your talent We\'re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Required Skills and Abilities: . University degree. . Experience in software procurement, including desktop, infrastructure, enterprise applications, andcloudservices. . Knowledge of major vendor licensing models and metrics (i.e. Microsoft, IBM, Oracle). . Previous exposure to software audit processes and ability to interpret compliance reports. . Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills. Desired Skills and Abilities: . Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and contract negotiations simultaneously, could be working on up to 20 initiatives at any one time. . Ability to communicate key commercial considerations and risks to stakeholders. . Some experience and ability to review and edit contracts, software license terms, and contract changes/variations. .
