Job Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day procurement activities including sourcing, purchase order creation, and vendor follow-ups.
Identify and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and consumables used in chemical manufacturing.
Negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost savings and timely availability.
Maintain and update vendor database, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores/warehouse for timely replenishment of materials.
Prepare comparative statements, track purchase requisitions, and maintain proper documentation.
Assist in contract management, vendor performance evaluation, and supplier relationship management.
Work closely with production, accounts, and logistics teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Ensure compliance with statutory norms, safety standards, and company guidelines in all procurement activities.
Generate MIS reports for management review (purchase cost, vendor performance, inventory status).
Candidate Requirements
Graduate / Postgraduate in Science, Commerce, or relevant field (MBA/PG in Supply Chain preferred).
5-7 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchase function, preferably in chemical/manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience in ERP/SAP or similar procurement software.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control skills.
Knowledge of inventory management, purchase processes, and basic taxation (GST, TDS).
Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional coordination.
Ability to handle multiple suppliers and ensure timely procurement under pressure.
