Job Summary

The

Procurement Officer

is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, components, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role ensures timely availability of materials at optimal cost, while maintaining quality standards and strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, consumables, spares, and services Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors in line with company policies Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, contracts, and payment conditions to achieve cost savings Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with approved budgets Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Stores to ensure uninterrupted material supply Monitor inventory levels and work closely with stores to avoid shortages or excess stock Track supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service Ensure materials meet quality standards and resolve supplier-related quality issues Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and documentation Support audits and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and statutory requirements Analyze market trends and recommend cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives

SKILLS

Strong knowledge of procurement processes in a manufacturing setup Experience in sourcing raw materials, MRO items, and capital goods Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Understanding of inventory control, lead times, and production planning Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / any ERP) and MS Excel
