The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire purchasing process for the company's projects, with a strong focus on solar energy. This role is crucial for ensuring that all goods, materials, and services are acquired at the best possible cost, quality, and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Planning:
Develop and implement strategic procurement plans and strategies that align with the company's business goals and project requirements.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their offerings, and stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the most favorable agreements.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts and quality standards.
Procurement Operations:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order, delivery, and invoice approval.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, project management, finance) to understand their needs and ensure timely material and service delivery for projects.
Oversee the management of procurement budgets and track expenditures to ensure cost control.
Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and inventory levels.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations.
Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
Contribute to the security and sustainability of essential products and services.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and guide a team of procurement professionals (if applicable).
Promote a collaborative environment and provide guidance to ensure all team members are aligned with departmental and company objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2-7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role, preferably within the solar, construction, or a related engineering industry.
Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends, cost data, and supplier performance.
Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations is a plus.
