This is a strategic role focused on sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of critical components for production.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with production schedules.
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers of
mechanical and electronics components
.
Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement
Vendor & Supplier Management:
Build strong vendor relationships and ensure consistent quality and delivery.
Conduct vendor audits and performance reviews.
Source new suppliers to expand the vendor base as per technical requirements.
Inventory & Logistics Coordination:
Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Ensure timely deliveries in line with production needs.
Work closely with planning and stores teams for order execution.
Cost Optimization & Budgeting:
Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Control procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
Ensure adherence to procurement budgets.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulations.
Reporting:
Generate procurement dashboards, MIS reports, and cost analysis.
Present key insights and vendor performance to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
or
Supply Chain / Business Administration
.
MBA preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of core procurement experience
in
aeronautical or automobile manufacturing companies
.
Proven experience in sourcing and procuring
mechanical and electronic components
.
Key Skills:
Deep understanding of
technical components, BOMs, and part specifications
(electronics/mechanical).
Knowledge of vendor development and negotiation in a manufacturing setup.
Proficiency in
ERP systems
(SAP / Oracle) and advanced MS Excel.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and cost estimation skills.
Fluent in Hindi and English
- must be able to communicate clearly with suppliers across India.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver under tight deadlines.
Preferred Attributes:
Familiarity with
ISO/AS9100 or TS16949
processes is an added advantage.
Experience working with both
domestic and international suppliers
