is a dynamic leader in specialty and fine chemicals, with a strong footprint in pharmaceutical manufacturing. We're expanding our procurement team and seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to drive cost-effective sourcing, vendor partnerships, and seamless supply chain operations.
As our Procurement Manager, you'll be looking at and working on improving our raw material and API sourcing strategy, handling everything from costing new development projects to ensuring on-time deliveries of existing raw materials. You'll optimize costs, build robust vendor relationships, and mitigate supply risks in the fast-paced world of specialty chemicals and pharma APIs. This office-based role offers stability, growth, and the chance to influence global supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed costing and pricing analysis for new APIs, development projects, and raw materials, using tools like Excel to forecast budgets and identify savings.
Procurement for new campaigns, sourcing high-quality specialty/fine chemicals, APIs, and supplies from international vendors.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with global suppliers, evaluating performance and negotiating favorable terms.
Manage the full procurement lifecycle: RFQs, supplier selection, contract drafting, order placement.
Monitor market trends, pricing volatility, and supply chain risks for chemicals and APIs, recommending alternatives to maintain continuity.
Collaborate internally to align procurement with production schedules, R&D needs, and quality control requirements.
Mitigate disruptions by developing contingency plans and diversifying the supplier base.
Qualifications and Skills: Must-Haves
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Procurement Manager, Buyer, or similar role in specialty/fine chemicals, pharmaceutical API manufacturing, or related industries.
In-depth knowledge of chemical raw materials, APIs, specifications (e.g., COAs, purity/impurity standards), global pricing trends, and supply chains.
Proven expertise in vendor evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and building relationships with international suppliers.
Familiarity with pharma/chemical regulations (GMP, REACH, FDA/EMA), quality assurance in procurement, and tools like ERP, Excel.
