Role Overview
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for Solar EPC projects. This includes vendor development, rate negotiation, purchase planning, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Sourcing
Source, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for Solar PV modules, inverters, structures, cables, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical components.
Prepare and release RFQs, compare quotations, and negotiate competitive pricing.
Ensure procurement is aligned with project timelines and budgets.
2. Vendor Management
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and service providers.
Conduct vendor assessments, audits, and performance evaluations.
Maintain an updated vendor database with pricing and lead times.
3. Purchase Planning & Coordination
Work closely with Engineering, Project, and Finance teams to prepare procurement plans.
Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material status.
Ensure smooth coordination between suppliers, transporters, and site teams.
4. Cost Optimization & Negotiation
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Negotiate contracts, pricing terms, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and work orders.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
Maintain clear records of procurement transactions.
6. Inventory & Material Management
Coordinate dispatch, logistics, and material delivery to project sites.
Monitor inventory levels and avoid material shortages or excess stock.
Required Qualifications
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
(Mandatory)
Minimum 5 years of experience
in Procurement / Purchase
Experience in Solar EPC or Electrical industry preferred
Strong knowledge of electrical components, solar materials, and vendor ecosystem
Skills & Competencies
Excellent negotiation & communication skills
Strong analytical and cost evaluation abilities
Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems & documentation
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong coordination and project management skills
