Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced

Procurement Manager

to lead procurement and vendor management operations for ARBT's prefabricated and modular construction projects. This position is based in Chennai and will involve working closely with ARBT's Australia-based teams to manage material sourcing, vendor contracts, and logistics planning.

The ideal candidate will have

10+ years of experience

in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the construction, prefab, or manufacturing industries. A strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and international sourcing experience will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and manage procurement strategies tailored to project timelines and prefab workflows. Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified vendors and suppliers for construction materials, components, and services. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms while ensuring compliance with ARBT and Australian standards. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (design, engineering, and planning teams) to forecast and plan procurement activities. Track procurement KPIs such as lead times, cost savings, supplier performance, and material availability. Manage logistics planning for prefabricated elements, including coordination with freight providers and customs documentation. Maintain up-to-date procurement records, contracts, pricing databases, and supply chain dashboards. Ensure risk mitigation by maintaining alternate vendor sources and contingency procurement plans. Oversee cost control measures, vendor compliance, and procurement quality assurance. Act as a primary liaison between India-based operations and Australian commercial teams for all procurement-related activities.

Role Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum

10 years of procurement experience

, including 3-5 years in construction, prefab, or manufacturing sectors, factory or international factory sector Strong negotiation skills and proven experience in international sourcing and vendor management. Knowledge of procurement standards, construction materials, and supply chain risk mitigation. Familiarity with Australian construction standards and prefab systems is an advantage (training provided if needed). Proficient in procurement and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or equivalent). Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote international teams. High attention to detail with a solution-oriented and strategic approach.
