to lead the sourcing and purchasing of knitted fabrics for our apparel production. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of fabric types, supplier networks, and quality standards, along with strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabric Sourcing:
Identify and source high-quality knitted fabrics (e.g., jersey, rib, interlock, fleece) from reliable suppliers locally and internationally.
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with fabric mills, converters, and agents. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Negotiation & Costing:
Negotiate best pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules while ensuring adherence to budgets and cost targets.
Quality Assurance:
Work closely with the team to ensure fabric meets all technical, quality, and compliance standards before approvals and bulk purchases.
Order Planning:
Forecast fabric requirements based on production schedules. Ensure timely procurement to avoid delays in manufacturing.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and certifications.
Inventory Control:
Coordinate with the warehouse and production teams to manage fabric stock levels and avoid overstock or stockouts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Graduate in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
2-5 years of hands-on experience in knitted fabric sourcing and procurement.
Strong understanding of fabric construction, GSM, dyeing, and finishing processes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
Ability to travel for vendor meetings and fabric inspections as needed.
