General Description of the Role

  • Is responsible for the procurement activities of one or more materials/services in line with Gruppo Campari procurement guidelines and the relevant category strategy
  • He/she reports to Regional Procurement Director (RPD) and when needed works under the guidance of Global Category Manager (GCM) on global tasks.
  • Coordinates the procurement activities of Junior Buyers by delegating specific activities and projects related to his/her own category or supervising Junior Buyer in leading a category assigned to him/her.

Mission of the procurement function

To drive profitable growth for Gruppo Campari by transforming supplier capabilities into internal solutions for innovation, quality and service at the most competitive cost with a professional and passionate team.

Objectives of the role

In line with the procurement mission, the objectives of this role are

Provide and ensure efficient, effective and continuous supply of goods and services at competitive cost, quality and lead time through market research and scouting activities, negotiations with suppliers and contract management according to the global procurement guidelines at a local and regional level.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Strategy definition

Procurement Manager supports RPD and/or GCM in defining strategy for the related category and other regional programs defined by RPD:
  • Contributes to the analysis of the current situation and needs, cost analysis, market analysis and SWOT analysis
  • Actively participates in supplier base review and definition
  • Supports Action Plan creation at Global, Regional and/or Local level
  • Provides reports and analysis
Strategy implementation

Procurement Manager plays an active role in implementing procurement strategy at regional or local level for the relevant category
  • In collaboration with RPD and/or GCM identifies the appropriate negotiation approach and tactics and executes it accordingly
  • During the contractual phase contributes and supports RPD in definition of the legal protection, SLA\'s and operative clauses
  • Coordinates the vendor qualification and vendor rating processes for the materials/services he is responsible for. Carries out vendor audits, and takes the responsibility for the supplier development Action plan preparation.
Budgeting

Procurement Manager contributes to the budget preparation and supports RPD and/or GCM in various activities, such as:
  • Provides input for macro-economic analysis and material cost hypothesis and analysis
  • Contributes to price scenario set up and the estimate related to the materials/services under his area of responsibility to be included in the budget for the assigned category/ies
  • Supports RPD in budget preparation and highlighting business impacts, such as cost, productivity, etc.
  • Supports RPD in preparing the needed documentation for the revised budget sessions.
  • Provide value added ideas and projects to reduce cost and increase productivity
Innovation

Procurement Manager takes an active role in facilitating continuous improvements of the procurement functions contribution to the business, for example:
  • Helps to look for solutions to fulfill marketing needs for the new product development and other innovation projects
  • Proactively provides insights on new materials, organizes supplier presentations and ensures follow-up on the agreed Action plans.
Sourcing

Procurement Manager is responsible for appropriate contract management and claim management process at regional and local level.
  • Inserts contracts on a shared repository (if applicable), and monitors the appropriate contract implementation ensuring the compliance with terms agreed. Under the guidance of GCM or RPD defines supplier hierarchy and carries out activities necessary for supplier and material coding.
  • According to the criticality and value of a received claim, when necessary leads or supports RPD/GCM in negotiations with a supplier to reach an agreement and handles refund on costs. Updates supplier scorecard.
Functional leadership
  • Contributes to the continuous development and improvement of procurement processes, procedures, tools, training and talent development programs

  • Forecast Accuracy on Budgeting
  • Cost efficiencies/savings achieved
  • Implement DPO and Inventory Management Policies

  • Complete use and application of the Campari processes and tools for supplier relationship management (Meetings, Reporting, Score Cards, Vendor Evaluation, etc.)
  • Contribute to Campari Innovation activities (Supplier Trade Forums, Marketing Innovation shows, Projects involvement, etc.)
  • People Development/Succession Plans implemented (When applicable)
