The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the company's end-to-end purchasing activities of raw materials, hardware, wood, board, fabric, foam, metals, glass, packaging, outsourcing services, finished goods, and logistics within the furniture manufacturing industry. The role focuses on supplier management, cost optimization, quality compliance, timely availability of materials, vendor negotiations, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Planning
Manage material purchasing for factory production, projects, and customization orders
Prepare monthly, weekly, and project-based procurement plans
Forecast material requirements in coordination with design, production, and sales teams
Ensure uninterrupted material supply for production and site installation
2. Supplier & Vendor Management
Identify, onboard, audit, and evaluate suppliers specialized in furniture materials and outsourcing partner factories
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for wood, MDF, HDF, plywood, laminate, veneer, foam, fabric, metal, accessories, fittings, finishing, logistics, and packaging
Develop new vendor base for competitive pricing and improved quality
3. Cost & Quality Optimization
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, delivery SLA, and warranty terms
Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality
Ensure suppliers comply with quality standards, material specifications, and safety norms
Review samples and validate material approvals before bulk ordering
4. Compliance & Documentation
Manage RFQs, purchase orders (PO), termsheets, and procurement contracts
Maintain GST-compliant invoicing and procurement records
Update procurement MIS, supplier database, price comparison sheets, and stock reports
Ensure legal due diligence for high-value vendor partnerships
5. Inventory & Logistics Coordination
Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and warehouse space optimization
Coordinate with logistics vendors to ensure timely domestic and interstate deliveries
Track lead time, delivery performance, and resolve supply bottlenecks
Manage project-site material delivery and installation support coordination
6. Team & Process Improvement
Lead and mentor procurement and store teams
Standardize SOPs for procurement, vendor evaluation, quality check, and approvals
Work on digitization of procurement processes and vendor rating systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for better production outcomes
Strong knowledge of furniture raw materials and accessories
Understanding of manufacturing processes, product BOM, and material specs
Experience in procurement from furniture industry suppliers & outsourcing partners

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of procurement experience in the
furniture manufacturing or furniture solutions industry
Prior experience handling suppliers for wood, fabric, foam, metal, hardware, and project-based procurement is essential
