Position Overview



The Procurement Manager will support the Purchase Head in managing the procurement activities for inventory, raw materials (basic and specialty), machinery, and capital equipment. The role focuses on supplier management, cost optimization, ensuring material availability, and adherence to quality standards. The Purchase Manager will play a critical role in executing procurement plans, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting operational requirements in alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities



1.

Procurement Execution



Assist in sourcing and procurement of raw materials such as whole spices, ground spices, blend spices, seasonings, and oil inputs.

Ensure timely purchase of packaging material, inventory and machinery to meet production schedules.

Coordinate with vendors to finalize rates, lead times, and delivery schedules.

Vendor Relationship & Development



Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.

Identify new vendors for critical categories and support evaluation processes.

Monitor supplier performance, resolve supply issues, and ensure compliance with agreed terms.

3.

Cost Management & Negotiation



Assist in negotiating prices, payment terms, and long-term agreements.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Monitor market trends and pricing to support strategic purchasing decisions.

4.

Quality & Compliance



Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure raw materials meet required specifications.

Ensure all procurement processes comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and food safety standards.

Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and reporting.

5.

Inventory & Planning Support



Support inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained without overstocking.

Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast material requirements and procurement schedules.

6.

Reporting & Documentation



Prepare purchase reports, supplier evaluation reports, and cost analysis as required by the Purchase Head.

Ensure proper documentation for purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.

7.

Team Collaboration



Work closely with finance, operations, logistics, and quality teams to support procurement needs.

Participate in supplier meetings, internal reviews, and cross-functional coordination efforts.

Key Accountability Areas (KAA)



Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Knowledge of sourcing strategies, inventory control, and supply chain optimization.

Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

Cost savings achieved through strategic procurement initiatives.

Timely procurement of materials with minimal lead time and stock outs.

Inventory turnover and stock optimization metrics.

Quality compliance of procured materials.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, Engineering, or related fields.

8-12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in FMCG, food processing, or spices industry.

Experience handling raw material sourcing, vendor management, and inventory planning.

Proven track record in managing procurement of raw materials, machinery, and vendor relationships.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Analytical thinking with problem-solving ability.

Leadership capability to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
