Job Purpose:

To manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, components, and services essential for the manufacturing of solids handling equipment and automation systems. Ensure timely availability, cost-effectiveness, and quality of purchased items.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development



Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.

Source materials such as SS/MS plates, pipes, flanges, motors, gearboxes, control panels, PLCs, sensors, valves, etc.

Negotiate price, delivery terms, and payment conditions to ensure cost savings and timely supply.

Maintain approved vendor lists and conduct supplier audits.

2. Purchase Operations



Process purchase orders based on BOM and production requirements.

Track orders to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any discrepancies.

Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs and company policies.

Coordinate with Stores, Production, and Design departments for order planning.

3. Cost Control & Analysis



Monitor and control procurement budgets.

Analyze purchase price variance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Implement long-term rate contracts for repeat items.

Benchmark pricing trends in the market for critical inputs.

4. Documentation & Systems



Ensure proper documentation of PO, quotations, comparison sheets, and delivery challans.

Operate ERP or procurement software for tracking and reporting.

Maintain accurate records for internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with statutory and import/export norms where applicable.

5. Team Management & Coordination



Lead and mentor the procurement team.

Coordinate with design and project teams to understand technical specifications.

Work closely with stores and accounts for GRN and vendor payment processing.

Resolve supplier disputes and delivery issues efficiently.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of engineering materials, components, and vendor base.

Negotiation and communication skills.

Analytical and commercial acumen.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally) and MS Excel.

Understanding of project-based procurement and lead time management.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management. MBA preferred.

Experience: 8+ years in procurement within an engineering, fabrication, or automation industry.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, on-site role with regular coordination across departments.

Vendor visits, market surveys, and factory shop floor interaction as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
