Head - Procurement

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose

To manage end-to-end procurement of civil construction materials, subcontractors, and services, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Vendor Management

Source and procure civil construction materials (cement, steel, sand, aggregates, bricks, tiles, fittings, etc.)

Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and subcontractors

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts

Maintain approved vendor and rate contract database

2. Cost Control & Budgeting

Ensure procurement within approved project budgets

Compare quotations and prepare comparative statements (CS)

Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

Track price fluctuations and market trends for key materials

3. Material Planning & Coordination

Coordinate with project/site engineers for material requirements

Prepare procurement schedules based on project timelines

Ensure timely delivery to avoid site delays

Monitor inventory levels and avoid overstocking or shortages

4. Documentation & Compliance

Raise and track Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO)

Maintain proper procurement documentation and approvals

Ensure GST, invoicing, and statutory compliance

Maintain audit-ready procurement records

5. Quality & Specification Compliance

Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards

Coordinate with QA/QC and site teams for inspections

Handle rejections and replacements for non-conforming materials

6. Inter-Department Coordination

Liaise with:

Project & Site Teams

Accounts & Finance (for payments and reconciliations)

Stores & Inventory

Management for approvals and reporting

Educational Qualification

B.E / B.Tech (Civil) / Diploma in Civil Engineering / MBA (Operations / Supply Chain preferred)
