Job Summary



The Head of Procurement will be the strategic leader responsible for all procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management activities for the company. This role is critical for ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured supply of all materials, equipment, and services required for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the Indian construction market, a proven track record in strategic sourcing, and exceptional negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities



1. Strategic Leadership & Planning:



Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.

Lead the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to payment, for categories including Civil, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Facade, Finishes, and Project Services.

Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier landscapes to anticipate risks and opportunities.

Integrate procurement strategy with project schedules to ensure seamless material availability and avoid project delays.

2. Sourcing & Supplier Management:



Identify, evaluate, pre-qualify, and onboard new vendors and subcontractors across India.

Develop and maintain a robust and reliable supplier base, fostering strong, long-term partnerships.

Lead the centralized tendering and negotiation process for all major project purchases.

Implement a Vendor Performance Management system to regularly assess and rate suppliers on quality, delivery, and commercial terms.

3. Cost Management & Negotiation:



Drive significant cost savings and value engineering initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines.

Lead high-stakes negotiations for bulk rates, frame agreements, and long-term contracts.

Analyze cost structures and conduct "should-cost" analysis for key materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates).

Monitor and control the project procurement budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets.

4. Process & Compliance:



Develop, standardize, and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Ensure full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.

Manage the contract administration process, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.

Implement and manage a digital procurement/procurement ERP system to improve efficiency and transparency.

5. Team Leadership & Development:



Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, including procurement managers, engineers, and coordinators.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration within the team and across departments (Project, Finance, Legal).

6. Risk Management & Logistics:



Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including price volatility, material shortages, and logistical bottlenecks.

Oversee logistics and supply chain planning to ensure timely delivery of materials to multiple project sites.

Manage inventory levels for critical items to optimize working capital.

Qualifications & Experience



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA/ PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain) is highly preferred.

Experience:

15+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least

8-10 years in a leadership role within the Indian construction industry.



Technical Knowledge:



o In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes in India.

o Strong understanding of MEP systems and their procurement cycles.

o Proven experience with contract law and legal documentation (GCC, SCC).

Systems:

Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
