Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Vendor Development:

Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors for Lithium-Ion Battery scrap (e.g., cell manufacturers, EV OEMs, e-waste recyclers, consumer electronic waste aggregators).

Build and maintain a robust supplier database for consistent raw material inflow.

Travel to supplier locations for capability assessments and relationship building.

Procurement Execution:

Execute the complete procurement cycle from inquiry to purchase order placement.

Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability of Li-Ion battery scrap.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and logistics to achieve the best total cost of ownership.

Quality & Compliance:

Coordinate with the quality team to ensure the scrap material meets company specifications.

Understand and ensure compliance with relevant regulations for handling, transporting, and storing hazardous scrap materials (e.g., CPCB guidelines, EPR rules).

Manage all necessary documentation, including customs clearance for international procurement.

Supply Chain Coordination:

Liaise with internal teams like logistics, operations, and finance to ensure a smooth supply chain.

Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely deliveries to meet production schedules.

Market Intelligence:

Continuously monitor the global market for Lithium-Ion batteries, including new chemistries, pricing fluctuations, and geopolitical factors affecting supply.

Provide regular reports and insights to the management team.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical), or a Bachelor's/Master's in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

2 to 3 years of proven experience in procurement, specifically within battery scrap, e-waste, or non-ferrous metal scrap.

Candidates with direct experience in procuring Lithium-Ion Battery scrap will be given top priority.

Experience in international sourcing will be a significant advantage.

Technical Knowledge:

Basic understanding of Lithium-Ion battery types, chemistries (NMC, LFP, LCO), and components.

Familiarity with the recycling process for Li-Ion batteries is a plus.

Additional Skills

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently.

Proficiency in SAP, MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP systems.
