The Procurement & Designing Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement of mechanical parts and components essential for the organization's operations. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality mechanical parts required for manufacturing, maintenance, or other purposes. The Mechanical Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization has access to reliable and cost-effective mechanical components to support its objectives.
Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors
Track inventory and restock goods when needed
Stay up to date on industry trends and new products
Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing
Quality Assurance & Quality Check:
Experience with Quality Assurance & quality check of material purchase, grade knowledge of the components.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a requirement for Procurement Specialists. They use these skills to determine their company's product needs and to create constructive relationships with vendors.
Project management:
Procurement Specialists often manage multiple projects at one time. The ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals is necessary for managing these projects.
Negotiation:
Procurement Specialists are in charge of negotiating vendor contracts, so they must understand price points and be able to negotiate effectively.
Perfect Mechanical Calculation:
Having experience of complete mechanical mathematical calculation for selecting any mechanical component.
Problem-solving:
A Procurement Specialist must have strong problem-solving skills. For example, they may need to solve the problem of a product or service that does not meet the quality standards of their company.
Packaging & Transportation:
Having Experience in packaging and transportation of mechanical components, while optimizing for cost, space efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Mechanical Designing:
Create structural and mechanical designs--e.g., sheet metal assemblies, L?channels, C?channels, weldments--using SOLIDWORKS and/or ANSYS. Perform mechanical simulations (stress-strain, CFD) to validate designs. Document engineering work via detailed 3D models, layouts, drawings, and technical reports.
Travel to project sites within India and internationally for design implementation and execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless design integration and on-ground problem-solving.
Fabrication & Tool room Experience:
Basic experience about Steel Structure Fabrication Drawings. Knowledge of IS Standards of Steel Structure fabrication, tolerances, steel welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Friction, Argon, Spot Welding), finishing, assembling, fastening, etc.
Knowledge about manual lathe, milling, surface grinding machines & etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Strong mechanical mathematical calculations for selecting any mechanical components.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to mechanical parts and components.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Designing Software Experience: Solidworks, Creo, Autocad, etc.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
